Crow River Harley-Davidson® in Delano, Minnesota offers on-site Dyno Tuning because we are committed to providing riders to get the most out of their motorcycles and ultimately the most out of their Harley-Davidson® experience. Simply put: Dyno Tuning increases your bike's performance.
What is Dyno Tuning?
The Dyno Tune is performed on a dynamometer which is a computerized tool that allows the service technician to run your motorcycle, simulate road conditions and trouble shoot performance concerns. In other words, a Dyno Tune is diagnostic. It's also where you make adjustments while tuning/testing the capabilities of a motorcycle. Key aspects such as ignition, fuel level, and air supply, rear-wheel horsepower, torque, speed, and RPM are measured and adjusted by the service technician to achieve optimum performance. Before testing, your bike should be in good condition. If the tires, belt, etc. are in poor condition they may fail because they will be tested at maximum output on the dynamometer (dyno).
Why have a Dyno Tune?
Simply put: Performance. Eventually, every Harley motorcycle owner wants a little more horsepower or torqu out of their engine. Any motorcycle engine that has been modified previously should have a Dyno Tune. It makes no difference if your bike is naturally aspirated or injected. Our service technician will be able to show your pre-Dyno and post-Dyno performance numbers for your motorcycle. After adjustments are made, your bike will be tuned to achieve maximum power, efficiency, and throttle response. Not only will you get a top-notch riding experience, but you will also know you are getting the top performance out of your motorcycle and saving money in the long run. A properly tuned engine doesn't work as hard as poorly tuned engine to do the same job, saving wear and tear on your motorcycle.
Who is authorized to run the Dyno Tuner?
At Crow River Harley-Davidson® we have service technicians that have been trained and authorized to run the dynamometer (Dyno) in addition to all of the latest and new software options available. We can show you different scenarios of what your motorcycle would be like with different bolt-on accessories like a pipe and jet kit, or another cam timing setting, etc. Because you can see the pre- and post-Dyno Tuning performance measurements, you'll be confident that you are getting what you are paying for.
How do I get a Dyno Tune on my motorcycle?
It only takes less than an hour to find out your bike’s current horsepower and torque numbers. If you want to go all the way and have your bike tuned to improve its power and ride, the amount of time will depend on your H-D® motorcycle. All Harley-Davidson® motorcycles are built differently, so depending on your type of engine, it may take longer than another type of engine.
